How is the tip amount calculated?
The bill is multiplied by the tip percentage and divided by 100. The total bill is the original amount plus that tip.
How does the per-person split work?
The exact tip and total are divided by the number of people, then each displayed share is rounded to two decimal places. A tiny remainder can exist when an amount cannot be divided evenly.
Can I enter a custom tip percentage?
Yes. Type any non-negative percentage or choose 10%, 15%, 18%, 20% or 25%. Zero percent is valid.
Which currency does the calculator use?
The amounts are currency-neutral. Enter every amount in the same currency; the tool performs no exchange-rate conversion.

Calculate a tip and split the rounded amounts
The tip is the bill multiplied by the tip percentage and divided by 100. The total adds that tip to the original bill. Per-person values divide the exact tip and total by the number of people, then round each displayed share to two decimal places.

- When a split cannot divide evenly to two decimals, a small rounding remainder can remain.
Rounding and privacy
Displayed money amounts are rounded to two decimal places. Zero bill and zero tip are valid; negative values and zero people are rejected.
Bill, tip and group-size inputs stay in the browser and are not stored or included in analytics.
