Frequently asked questions
When can I leave Pages blank?
Leave Pages blank to render every page only when the PDF has 40 pages or fewer. For a longer PDF, enter a selection containing no more than 40 pages, such as 1-40. You can convert another selection in a separate run after downloading the first result.
How do I select pages and identify the JPGs in a ZIP?
Enter page numbers or forward ranges separated by commas, such as 1,3,5-8. Numbers start at 1, and overlapping or repeated pages are rejected. Each selected page becomes its own image; ZIP filenames such as page-003.jpg refer to the original PDF page number.
Why do I get a ZIP instead of one JPG?
One selected page produces a single JPG download. Selecting two or more pages produces a ZIP containing separate JPGs. The tool does not join pages into one tall image, so extract the ZIP to use the individual page images.
How should I choose Resolution and JPG quality?
Resolution controls image dimensions: 96 DPI is smaller, 144 DPI is balanced and 192 DPI is more detailed. JPG quality adjusts image compression without changing those dimensions. Higher resolution uses more browser memory; if a page exceeds the canvas limit, choose a lower resolution and try again.
Does PDF to JPG extract editable text or the original embedded images?
No. It renders each whole PDF page as a flat JPG image, including text and graphics together. It does not perform OCR, create editable text or extract the original image files embedded in the PDF. Text in the JPG is part of the image.

Select a resolution for whole-page images
PDF to JPG renders each selected PDF page as a complete image on a white background. Choose 96 DPI for smaller pixel dimensions, 144 DPI for a middle setting or 192 DPI for more pixels. JPG quality is a separate control from 60% to 95%; it affects image compression rather than pixel dimensions.
A single selected page downloads as a JPG, while multiple pages download as individual JPGs inside a ZIP archive. Leave Pages blank to render the whole document when it has 40 pages or fewer. For longer PDFs, enter a selection of up to 40 pages and repeat with another range if needed.

Export two Letter pages for sharing

- report.pdf has 3 standard portrait Letter pages, each measuring 8.5 × 11 inches.

- Enter 1,3 in Pages, choose 144 DPI and 85% JPG quality, then select Convert to JPG.
- You get
- report-jpg-pages.zip contains page-001.jpg and page-003.jpg. Each image measures 1224 × 1584 pixels; page 2 is omitted.
Tips for a useful result
- Increasing DPI increases both width and height; doubling it produces four times as many pixels.
- If a page exceeds the 24-megapixel rendering limit, select a lower resolution.
- Check fine text in the downloaded JPG before exporting a larger range at the same settings.
